Iban a celebrarse el pasado 26 de enero, pero la tragedia de los incendios de Los Ángeles llevaron a postponer los Critics Choice Awards 2025 dos veces. Por fin, anoche, en el Barker Hangar de Santa Monica pasó lo más celebrado de la cosecha hollywoodiense del año pasado.
La crítica nacional e internacional elegía sus favoritas en cine y televisión y la noche estuvo muy repartida. Sólo algunos repitieron lo que viene siendo ya habitual y que quizá se siga repitiendo hasta los Oscar: Adrien Brody por The Brutalist, Zoe Saldaña por Emilia Pérez, Demi Moore por La sustancia, Kieran Culkin por A Real Pain…
Sin embargo, al final, hubo sorpresa, una muy grata: Anora se acabó llevando el premio gordo de la noche, el de mejor película. Después de ganar la Palma de Oro en Cannes, la película de Sean Baker parecía haber pasado a un segundo término frente a otras más mediáticas (o más agresivas y ambiciosas en su campaña de premios, seamos sinceros), y ahora, ojalá, signifique que puede recuperar fuelle en lo que queda hasta el Kodad Theatre.
Era también la primera noche de grandes premios desde la polémica con Karla Sofía Gascón. Cierto es que las votaciones de los Critics Choice Awards 2025 se cerraron mucho antes y, en ese sentido, Emilia Pérez mantuvo los premios que más asegurados tenía en todas esta campaña: película internacional, canción y actriz de reparto para Zoe Saldaña.
